This policy explains what information the Shapen app ("Shapen", "the app") handles, where it goes, and the choices you have. Shapen is made by MINIMA APPS LIMITED ("we", "us"), based in Manchester, United Kingdom.
The short version: your photos, videos, weight and measurements stay on your device, and in your own iCloud if you turn on sync. We never receive them. We collect a small amount of anonymous usage data and crash reports to improve the app. They are not linked to you, are never used for advertising or tracking, and never include your photos or body data.
The following is stored on your iPhone or iPad and is not sent to us:
If you turn on iCloud sync, this data is also stored in your private iCloud account, managed by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. We cannot see or access your private iCloud data.
When you ask for a body fat estimate or a photo analysis, the photo is sent to the following service to be processed. It is never sent to or stored by us.
Coach summaries are written on your device by Apple Intelligence and are not sent to us.
Photo analysis is the only feature in the app that sends a photo off your device.
A photo taken in clothes is tracked for fit and is not sent for an estimate.
The estimate is an approximation. It is not a measurement and is not medical advice.
If you give permission, Shapen reads weight, body fat percentage and height from the Apple Health app, and writes weight, body fat percentage, waist circumference and lean body mass to it. You choose exactly which types Shapen can access in the Health permission screen, and you can change this at any time in the Health app or in iOS Settings.
